History
1967 - Establishment of Lebedinsky GOK, beginning of capital mining operations.
1971 – Lebedinsky quartzite open pit mine was put into service.
1972 – Commissioning of the first section of Lebedinsky GOK, first tone of iron-ore concentrate was produced.
1975 – First section of Pellet Plant came on-stream, first pellets were produced.
1982 – Secondary Benefication Plant was put into operation; first concentrate with heightened Fe content was produced (70%).
1995 – Construction of first section of Hot Briquetted Iron plant (HBI Plant 1) was started.
2001 – Commissioning of the HBI Plant 1 and achievement of its design capacity enabled Lebedinsky GOK to acquire the status of a Mining and Metallurgical Plant.
2003 – The mining output achieved 1 billion tons of iron ore. Unified automated production control system was implemented.
2005
– Lebedinsky GOK obtained a title of a Laureate of National Ecological Award competition «EcoWorld» and was awarded a Diploma of the second degree for the Project «Production of ecologically friendly products – the briquettes».
- Lebedinsky GOK became the first metals and mining enterprise in Russia and Europe, which passed the certification procedure in accordance with international standard ISO 14001:2004.
2006 – Authorities of the sole executive body of JSC “Lebedinsky GOK” were transferred to Management Company METALLOINVEST LLC.
2007
- Lebedinsky GOK confirmed its membership in the International HBI Association. (HBIA, Pittsburg, USA)
- Lebedinsky GOK’s Quality Management System proved to be in compliance with the requirements of the international standard ISO 9001:2000 by the certified audit of the British Standard Institution.
- Construction of the HBI Plant 2 with the design capacity of 1.4 million tons of briquettes per year was completed.
- 500-millionth tone of iron-ore concentrate was produced.
- The construction of the fifth section of additional beneficiation was accomplished at the Beneficiation Plant. The commissioning of this section will allow to increase the output of high grade concentrate by 1,5 million tons a year.
2008
- Lebedinsky GOK’s Occupational Health and Safety Management System proved to be in compliance with the requirements of the international standard OHSAS 18001 by the certified audit of the British Standard Institution.
- Implementation of a large-scale external electric power supply project was initiated.
2009
- Passed OHSAS 18000:2007 audit and produced 100 hundred millionth ton of ore concentrate.
- Passed ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System audit.
2010
- Lebedinsky GOK won the “Environmental Security Award” in the “Leader of Environmental Protection in Russia-2010” contest.
- Lebedinsky GOK successfully completed the recertification audit procedure and confirmed the compliance of its Occupational Health and Safety Management System with the OHSAS 18001:2007 international standard requirements.
